Terms of Service

Last updated: July 30, 2026

These terms are written the way we'd actually explain them to a friend, not the way a law firm would pad them out. If something here ever conflicts with applicable law, the law wins.

What Railbill is

Railbill is a tool that generates invoice PDFs and embeds a payment link that you provide (typically a Stripe Payment Link pointing to your own Stripe account). Railbill does not process payments, does not hold funds, and is not a party to any transaction between you and your client.

What Railbill is not

  • Not a payment processor or money transmitter.
  • Not a party to the contract between you and your client.
  • Not responsible for verifying your client's identity, creditworthiness, or intent to pay.
  • Not a substitute for legal, tax, or accounting advice.

Your account and data

The free version of Railbill requires no account. Invoice data you enter is stored locally in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose a feature that requires it (none currently do). See our Privacy Policy for details.

Payment for Railbill itself

The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment of $19 processed through our payment provider (Stripe Checkout or Lemon Squeezy). This payment unlocks unlimited invoices and removes the free-tier watermark. It does not include the payment links you embed for your own clients — those go through your own Stripe account and are governed by Stripe's own terms.

Refunds

If you're not happy with the Lifetime plan, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. No form, no retention pitch.

Disclaimer of warranties

Railbill is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep the PDF generator and payment link embedding working correctly, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. You're responsible for reviewing every invoice before sending it to a client.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Railbill and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the tool, including disputes with your clients, incorrect invoice data, or issues with your own Stripe account or payment link. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which, for most users, is $19 or $0).

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above. We won't bury changes or spring surprise price increases on existing Lifetime customers — that's the entire point of this product.
